Your Identity in The Kingdom of God

1Peter 2:9-10

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

When you are not aware of your identity in Christ, then the devil will have a field day. The bible says we were held prisoners until faith came and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. So in this piece I will remind you of who you are in Christ to assist you to live the kingdom life God has prepared for you on earth.

From the above scriptures, we can see that we have been called out and set apart by God. We have on our lives a royal and holy calling so we are a force to reckon with on all fronts. In the kingdom of God to which we belong there is no inferior person. Everyone is made of superior material. You are made exactly like Christ. You have the same spiritual composition like God Himself.

The Lord spoke to me sometime ago, He asked me, ‘what is on the tongue of everybody in the world today’ I answered recession, then He said ‘do you know that I have not even given it a thought nor is it a subject of discussion in my Kingdom’. Friend, the news of the world is not the news of the kingdom. In Christ you are supposed to get your headlines from God and not from mere men.

You are to reign on this earth and not the earth reign over you. The life you now have is a glorious one and not an ordinary one. I have resolved within myself that I will live the life of heaven on earth and never live below my God given privileges. Because I know who I am in Christ and who Christ is in me.

You are God’s ambassador on earth and the Kingdom you represent will cater for every area of your life. Because you represent God in this world all of heavens resources are at your disposal. As an ambassador you carry the totality of heaven’s authority because you are heaven personified. When a country sends an ambassador to another country, the ambassador enjoys special treatment, diplomatic immunity. This means he cannot be prosecuted in the foreign land by a foreign government. Only his government can punish him for any offence and to do that he would have to be called back to his home country.

In the same vein, you are a pilgrim on this earth and heaven is your homeland, therefore the devil cannot afflict you in this life. So, the devil does not have dominion over you and has no rule of any kind over you. You are covered by the glory and honour of heaven on earth. The reason an ambassador enjoys all these benefits are because he represents the interest of his country. So you are to represent the interest of the kingdom of God. This we do by being light and hope to the dying world. All these privileges that we have in Christ are not for the fun of it but to establish the covenant of GOD on earth. So start walking in the reality of your new identity in Christ, enjoy the benefits and make the difference in this world and bring the Lord Jesus back in His full glory and splendour.
