Understanding God’s Grace

2 Corinthians 6:2 – Hear what God says: “When the time came for me to show you favor, I heard you; when the day arrived for me to save you, I helped you.” Listen! This is the hour to receive God’s favor; today is the day to be saved! (Good New Translation).

2 Corinthians 8:9 – For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

The Hebrew word ‘grace’ is interpreted as ‘divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in life’. From the definition we can see that the work of grace starts in the heart, that is your understanding and insight of grace is the determinant factor of your level of manifestation of divine grace. If you have no depth of understanding of the grace of God you have little or no gracious manifestation. Although grace is unmerited, it is our responsibility to understand its working. So how does the grace of God work?

Firstly, we must understand that grace is a gift from God. Secondly, we must be aware that it is a seed that grows in the right environment which is why Paul said ‘grace be multiplied unto you’. Lastly, we must receive grace by faith and not by feeling.

The symptoms of lack of one thing or the other may persist but we are to stand in faith and as grace is multiplied through the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, the feelings and symptoms are overtaken by our awareness of the overwhelming grace of God. Grace increases when our knowledge of God’s unfailing love and power overtakes and over-rides our knowledge of our present circumstances.

Say this out loud: For I know for myself the grace of my Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich He became poor so that through His poverty I might be rich. I receive this divine exchange in Jesus’ mighty name. Because I have the grace of Jesus on me and in me my situation changes from extreme horror to extreme heaven, from extreme debt to extreme prosperity, from extreme sickness to extreme health in Jesus’ mighty name.Say this tens time now and everyday of this month and never forget grace brings extreme results. We are always praying for you so look up and take charge.
