The value of obedience and who to obey – Part 2
Titus 3:1-2 – Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
Colossians 4:1 -Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
Those in authority
Friend, you cannot be disloyal to your company and disobedient to authority and expect promotion and blessings from God. God is aware that you are in a Country and an organisation and He expects you to obey the terms and agreement of your citizenship and employment. God wants the people in authority to see you as a man of integrity and law abiding and as a result give glory to Him. So, stop going late to work and lazying around at work. Bring and add value to your job and God will see to it that you are promoted and blessed on the job. Christians should work hard in order to play hard. So get to work.
If you own your own company then God is your boss. So do legitimate business and operate it with the fear of God and be fair in your transactions. Then God will open the windows of heaven and pour you out blessings. Students, be students indeed by studying and keeping the standard high. Through your success your fellow students and lecturers will take note and give glory to God.
The Faith –
Acts 6:7 – Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.
We have to live up to our calling as believers. We cannot be submarine Christians, Godly on Sunday at church and become Godless in our dealings every other day and time. I want to encourage you to put your faith at the forefront of your daily life. Anything that would put a question mark on your Christianity should be avoided. You should avoid any appearance of evil from staining the faith you profess in Christ.
I have highlighted to you the people or the group that God demands us to obey in order for us to enjoy the benefits He has for us in Christ. Friend, there are spiritual laws that if we engage with will set us up for greatness before God and man. Think and meditate on these things and make adjustment where necessary and you will see your life shine brighter than ever.
