The Revelation of Christ and the power in the name of Jesus Christ

Acts 3:6-10Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them–walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God. Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

The revelation of Jesus Christ creates an appetite for dominion and victorious living. The revelation of Jesus Christ provokes a passion to establish God’s authority on earth. The revelation of Jesus Christ opens us up to a reality of endless possibilities. The revelation of Jesus Christ creates unshakable inner fortitude for us. The revelation of Jesus Christ turns our inner light on and makes us light up our world. The revelation of Jesus Christ turns us into God’s powerhouse.

In the above scripture in the book of Acts Peter and John through their revelation of Jesus Christ , delivered the lame man at the beautiful gate. I’m sure the man had heard of the historical Jesus but he had not encountered the revealed Christ. It is the revealed Christ that opens us up to a world of supernatural signs and wonders. It is our revelation of Jesus Christ that makes relationship with God living and not mere religious routine. Christianity is not meant to be a religion, it is meant to be a living and active relationship with Divinity. Christ is not meant only be taught historically, He is meant to be revealed and demonstrated practically. A non-demonstrative Christianity is historical and dead. It is only demonstrative Christianity that is impactful.

After Peter and John demonstrated Jesus Christ at the gate called beautiful. All the people that knew what happened were filled with wonder and amazement. Then they became receptive to the gospel as it was preached to them, and five thousand men received Jesus Christ on the spot. (Acts 4:4, however, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.) Please note that the impact Jesus Christ has not made on you, He cannot make through you. So the process of working in the power that is in Christ starts with a relationship with Him through the Holy Spirit. Some people like to use the name and power of Jesus Christ as a shock absorber. They like to use Him as a fixer. They don’t want to have a living relationship with him. This group of people are ready to fast and pray and do everything possible when they need God to show up and once they get want they need, they continue with their business until next time. This group of people only end up with divine manifestation based on the mercy of God and not based on relationship. Such manifestations are never regular, it is once in a while for such people and they seem satisfied. But when we first develop a relationship with Jesus Christ because of who He is and not what He can do for us, He begins to reveal Himself to us. Jesus confirms this in John 14:23Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. And in Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. In both cases Jesus was talking to his followers and not the unbelievers.

So we are to approach Jesus Christ with the intention to develop a living relationship with Him, not for what we can get off Him but for who He is. The He will begin to reveal Himself to us and lead us into green pasture. He would bring us into a large place. And with revelation comes revolution. Through the revelation of Jesus Christ we are empowered to do the works of Christ and then our world become really meaningful and productive. The result of the relationship with Jesus Christ is revolutionised living.
