The power in the Blood and Name of Jesus

Revelation 12:11 – And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Philippians 2:9-11 – Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Greek word for power is DUNAMIS – and one of the meanings is explosion. From the scripture in Leviticus 17:11, it is clear that the life of a person in the natural is dependent on the presence of blood in his/her veins. This implies that if blood stops flowing, gets contaminated or is absent in the body then the life of a person is in danger and if unchecked could result in fatality. The new life we have in Christ is a function of His blood. It is the blood of Jesus that gave us new life and keeps us connected to the very life of God (Zoë). Without the blood of Jesus we would not have the privilege to regain the dominion that Adam lost in the Garden of Eden.

The Blood of the Jesus is both a defensive and an offensive weapon. The redemptive power of the blood also include cleansing, protection, access to God’s divine presence, reinstatement of divine blessing, and all round victory in the conflicts of life. The Blood of Jesus is the final knockout to the setup of our dominion over the devil.

A name connotes title, identity, dignity, rank, power etc. The name of Jesus is the approved name over all names, ranks, positions, powers and forces that ever existed or will ever exist in heaven, earth and beneath the earth. In the context of our redemption the name of Jesus is the only name that guarantees our dominion over all opposition. When we became born again one other thing that happened was that we began to bear the name of Jesus. He gave us the power of attorney to bear His name so that we can get the same result He got.

The blood of Jesus is precious and powerful because He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and He did not commit any sin. There is no blemish in His blood. He became the propitiation for our sins and the sins of the world. As a result of the sacrifice He made, God gave Him a name that is above every name. The name of Jesus carries absolute power for our total redemption. The name and the blood of Jesus redeemed us and preserves our redemption. The name and the blood of Jesus defend us from the enemy and empower us over the enemy. The name and blood of the Jesus in our mouth becomes explosive when faith in the name is developed in our heart.

Acts 3:16 “And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”

Today I want you to go all out on both the defensive and the offensive and don’t holdback. Become “divine power-minded” when it comes to the name and blood of Jesus. Jesus has already given you His name. You already have a covenant with Him through His blood. So, get started in your dominion right away and don’t waste any time. In Jesus name I pray that every fallow ground in your life be broken up, any thorns and thistle that choke up the word of God be uprooted, every evil force that steal the power of God away from you I paralyse by the power in the blood of Jesus. I wipe away every tear and condemnation from you by the blood of Jesus right now. Go and be triumphant in Jesus mighty name.
