Galatians 3:13-14, 29

“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”.

What promises were made to Abraham?

Genesis 12:2-3

“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

I want to emphasize that this topic unveils who you really are right now and what already belongs to you for collection. And all you need to do to realise it is to believe it, proclaim it and receive it.

From the above scripture it is clear that Christ, the anointed one and His anointing has redeemed us (bought us back) from the curse (endowment not to prosper) and he has replaced it with the blessing. Please note not a blessing but the blessing. And it specifically indicates that this blessing is the blessing promised to Abraham. So what is the promise (Verse 29) and the blessing of Abraham (Verses 13-14)?

God promised Abram that he would become great so greatness belongs to you right now in Christ. Abraham was promised empowerment for the advancement of his name. So it is your heritage for your name to be known in great and high places.

Now this is the area many Christians avoid, God planned for you to be a blessing to others, meaning He wants you to empower others to prosper through your prosperity. Some say but Pastor some may want to take advantage of me and may try to put a curse on me. God has put a plan in place to ensure that the efforts of all who determine to pull you down come to nothing. This prosperity comes with divine security. Furthermore, everyone that endeavours to see you go up and do well He will empower them more and more.

The last but not the least is that He will see to it that you make a worldwide impact in your field. This looks very ambitious but it is not an ambition, nor is it a promise but your own personal heritage in Christ. It belongs to you right now because Christ has taken your place and you have taken His place. You are now eligible to partake of the entire blessing promised to Abraham.

The icing on the cake is that it’s no longer a promise but a present tense reality! To Abraham it was a promise but to us it’s statement of fact.
