The Magnitude of the Name Of Jesus

Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Psalm 20:7-8Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stand upright.

As we have been studying the supernatural name of Jesus I believe you have been catching some revelation and insight into the most important person in the Christendom. Yes, He is the most important person in this kingdom because He is the King of Kings and Lord of all Lords.

In the course of my study, I discovered that in the Old Testament, before Jesus came onto the earth as a man the term, the name of the Lord was frequently used and it brought the people deliverance of all kinds. The Old Testament Bible was translated from Hebrew to English language and I note that the term ‘the name of the Lord’ had different meanings, the name specifically has 16 different meaning and uses in the Bible. In many cases it was used in relation to victory and deliverance. I have outlined below some of the names, meanings and examples of where they were used.

16 titles of the Lord also known as ‘Jehovah titles’:

Jehovah means – The eternal, the immutable one, He who was, who is and who is to come.

Jehovah Elohim – The Eternal Creator – Genesis 2:4-25

Adonai – Jehovah – The Lord our sovereign, Master Jehovah – Genesis 15:2, 8

Jehovah Jireh – the Lord will see or provide – Genesis 22:8-14

Jehovah Nissi – The Lord our banner – Exodus 17:15

Jehovah Ropheka – The Lord our Healer – Exodus 15:26

Jehovah Shalom – The Lord our peace – Judges 6:26

Jehovah – Tsidkeenu – The Lord our righteousness Jeremiah 23:6, 33:16

Jehovah Mekaddishkem – The Lord our sanctifier – Exodus 31:13, Leviticus 20:8

Jehovah Saboath – The Lord of hosts – 1 Samuel 1:3

Jehovah Shammah – The Lord is present – Ezekiel 48:35

Jehovah – Elyon – The Lord most high – Psalm 7:17, 47:2, 97:9

Jehovah – Rohi – The Lord my shepherd psalm 23:1

Jehovah Hoseenu – The Lord our maker – Psalm 95:6

Jehovah Eloheenu – The Lord our God – Psalm 99:5, 8, 9

Jehovah Eloheka – The Lord thy God – Exodus 20:2, 5,7 Zechariah 14:5

Jehovah Elohay – The Lord my God

You can see that in the Old Testament time people were acquainted with the power that a name carries and possesses, so it is a Bible practise to use the name of a powerful person to gain access and privileges. With that in mind in the book of Philippians we see that God has given the Lord Jesus a name that is above every name and that includes all the names of God in the Old Testament.

In other words, the name of Jesus is above every name, therefore no problem is above him, no request is beyond him and no power is greater that his power, be it on earth, in heaven or under the earth. Not only is He above all, all must also bow to him to the glory of God. Some may oppose the fact that I say the name of Jesus is above the name of God but look at the scripture again: God Himself gave Him the name above His name.

God has put all of His power inside the name of Jesus as a man puts all his jewelry in a jewelry box. So for you to see God on the scene you have to use the name of Jesus because that is the authorised the path to the Father.
