Joel 3:13 we are admonished to Put… in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe:..”

In this season, it will be your privilege to win souls for Christ! However the work must be done with a clear sense of urgency. The bible declares that “…truly, the harvest is plenteous”…So, there is much work to be done.

The salvation of souls has always been the heartbeat of God. It was principally for this purpose that God sent to us His only begotten Son to die for our sins. We cannot relegate this assignment to a secondary status as the whole point of Jesus’s death on the cross is to give all of mankind open access to God. The scripture is clear on the will of God in this matter.

“Do you think that I like to see wicked people die? says the Sovereign LORD. Of course not! I want them to turn from their wicked ways and live” Ezekiel 18:23   (New Living Translation).

God derives no fulfillment when people go on in life without coming to the knowledge of Him. If God does not like to see people continue in their sins ought we not to feel the same way about the matter?

We only have this lifetime to do whatever we have committed ourselves to by covenant. Jesus in the book of Matthew 9:37 boldly stated that the harvest is truly plenty but that the labourers are few. Friend, why not make yourself one of the few that will run to the fields of the earth to bring in the harvest. You may say but I have never shared my faith with anyone before. All you need to do is to follow Christ through obedience and He will in turn transform you into a soul winner. Remember the scripture “follow me and I will make you fishers of men” Matthew 4:19

In the book of Revelation 14:15  we read the bible saying “Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, “Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

There is no other time better than NOW! Put in the sickle and harvest the multitude of souls waiting in the flanks to join God’s family. God needs you to take part in this important task of soul winning. No Christian should ever excuse him/herself from the noble task of evangelism. If we do, we make the death of Jesus on the cross of little value. Sharing our faith with others is indeed and awesome responsibility but it is also a work that attracts rewards.

“He that reapeth recieveth wages” John 4:36. God will pay you handsomely for your effort in the work of harvesting souls into the kingdom. Wouldn’t you rather have Him pay you? As we proceed into this season, it is my prayer that fruit will abound to your account through your efforts in soulwinning in Jesus name!
