THE ENEMIES OF VISION – PART 1

MARCH 9

2 Corinthians 2:11 – lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

For the next few days, I will be highlighting some enemies of vision. These are the things that delay or hinder the fulfilment of vision. Agreed, the devil is the enemy of every good thing but you need to be aware of the tools he uses. The bible says for we are not ignorant of the devices of the devil. So this week we shall take note of his devices to prevent any loss on our part.

Ignorance

Hosea 4:6 – My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law. (New King James)

It is often said that ignorance is not an excuse. I agree, your lack of knowledge of God’s vision for your life does not stop the flow of life, it only delays your part of it. The devil is called the prince of darkness because he thrives and delights in people’s ignorance. Ignorance is the absence of light in one form or another. No matter how great a vision and destiny God has for you, you are not a threat to the devil and cannot be a blessing to people if you are ignorant of the vision. The cure to this is revelation knowledge and you get this through consistent hunger and thirst for knowledge and pursuit of it. You have to search for it both in prayer and study. The bible is the manufacturer’s manual and God is our manufacturer so let’s keep connected to Him.

Poor preparation and Impatience leading to lack of clarity /poor communication

Habakkuk 2:1-4 – I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith.

Isaiah 28:10 – For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.”

Friends, half cooked food could be poisonous and dangerous. So also is lack of clarity regarding vision? It takes patience and thoroughness to be clear about God’s blueprint for our lives.  God’s thoughts are higher thoughts and His ways are higher ways so we need to pay a lot of attention and employ great patience to tune in into His frequency. You will appreciate that on a dark night if the headlamp on your car is not working you will have a lot of difficulty driving and you might have to abandon your car and find another means of transportation because of poor visibility. So also if your vision is not clear and poorly communicated your success may be delayed or in many cases the vision may not be accomplished because disillusionment frustrates the people. Jesus spent 30 years preparing for 3 years of ministry. From observation and experience I have discovered that a lot of visions fail because of little or no preparation. The cure to this is first taking time to get the details right and be very clear in your mind about what is required of you then patiently make the required adjustment on your part then you will have speedy accomplishment. Friends, the clearer you see the faster you will go.
