Hindrances of the Anointing – Part 1

Do you know that just as there are things we can do to activate the anointing, there are also things we can do to hinder its flow?
Yes, the anointing can be interrupted.
Let us examine some deal breakers of the anointing.

Judges, chapters 13-16, tells the story of a Man called Samson.
Samson was born to deliver the Israelites from the philistines.
He was anointed by God, who gave him unusual strength needed to destroy the enemies.

Judges 13:5 – “For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. No razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb, and he shall begin to save Israel from the hand of the Philistines”.

Samson was undoubtedly anointed, but his anointing stopped flowing.
1) Distraction
2) Disobedience
3) He took his anointing for granted.
Samson did not know that God had left him because he was so used to the anointing.
Sometimes you are so good at what you do, that you can begin to play church , and not know that the power of God is absent.
4) He was a head strong man.
He always wanted to have his way.
5) His heart shifted away from God.
His heart became hardened, and he was insensitive to Him.
His relationship with God suffered.
He was ready to get the woman he wanted, and deal with the enemy, not minding if it would affect his relationship with God.
His relationship with God was not first and foremost in his heart.

In the quest to achieve their goals, some mortgage their relationship with God.
The Holy Spirit is sensitive and tender, and he won’t force himself on a person.
It is only of the Holy Spirit that the bible says not to grieve. (Ephesians 4:30)
As powerful as He is, the Holy Spirit can be quenched. (1st Thessalonians 5:19).

The Holy Spirit is so tender, that you can miss out on what he asks you to do, if you don’t pay enough attention.
He wants to be involved in all aspects of your life, but if you don’t stop to listen to Him, then he will be quiet.
Be consciously in pursuit of Holy Spirit.
You must have a constant hunger for His presence.
Many hunger for the anointing for an ulterior motive. Let your hunger be for His presence, just to be where He is.

Friends, there is a grace on you given by God as your signature or trademark, but it will never flourish, grow or become stronger, unless you begin to project your intimacy with the Holy Spirit, for the sake of the relationship, not the manifestation.

Remember, you are not a biological accident, but a creature of destiny.
