In this modern age, there are various models and types of Televisions such as LEDS LCDS, flat screens, High definition TVs, Plasma and so on. One common feature that is peculiar to all modern TVs is the ability to sit on the comfort of your couch and Tune or control the equipment from a distance using an Infra-red remote control. This was not the case in the 70’s when my father first acquired his first television. I mean the days of big box Television sets such as Singers, Nationals and Grundig sets. These sets could only be tuned by turning the knob to the desired channel either clockwise or anti-clockwise.

Ours was a singer machines with 12 channels and because we were seven individuals living the same house, we often encounter challenges such as what channel we all should be watching at a particular time. The result is that we keep changing from channel to channel to follow up a program running in another channel and these often times results into disputes as no one wants to compromise for the other. At certain occasions we will have a grown up person in the house intervene and compelled all to watch the channel chosen by the eldest person person. This is the kind situation we experience when there are many visions conflicting with The Vision. The Television symbolizes a situation where you have many visions and when people focus on the Television instead of The vision, there will be great confusion in the land and I believe that is why the bibles declares in the book of Proverbs 29:18

Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, But happy is he who keeps the law. NASB

Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man] — blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he. AMP

When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is happy.

NLT

It can also be said that where there are too many visions it is tantamount to no vision at all as the people are confused, loose focus and ultimately run wild. A broken focus is no Focus, too many visions conflicting with the vision causes division and strife in the house and where there is strife and confusion there is every evil work. Every church has a vision which automatically influences there mode of doing things. Although we all have a common vision as the body of Christ, which is the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth but the methods and the way we convey it may differ from Ministry to Ministry depending on the guidance and instruction received from God by the Leader.

It therefore behooves us as followers of Christ in a particular ministry to align our service in line with the vision of such ministry if we want it to be well pleasing and acceptable service in the sight of God. Christians should focus on the divine guidance given to that ministry by God to achieve the common vision of establishing the Kingdom of God on earth. The vision is the same but the pattern may differ so stop copying and pasting as this will only gender strife among the brethren, if you feel you don’t like the pattern of your ministry in conveying the common vision, perhaps you don’t belong there, why don’t you find out where you fit in and be focused rather that jumping from church to church and comparing the patterns. It is the same God that gives vision with many infinite varieties.

Stop confusing the flock with your borrowed and foreign ideas; be focused on the vision of the ministry. God told Moses to build the temple according to the pattern shown to him on the mountain. Any other pattern is not original but a photocopy. Shift your focus off the Television and focus on the vision.
