Success Strategies Part 2
Psalm 16:8 – I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Today we will continue our study on success strategies.
Focus
Philippians 3:13-14
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things, which are behind, and reaching forward to those things, which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Life’s failures are as a result of broken focus or lack of focus. It is essential that you keep your thought patterns in line with your goals because where the mind goes the rest of the body will follow. There are many distractions on the road to success which you have to resist vigorously. To give up and quit is always the easiest option but it will never bring you to your place of success.
Please don’t allow other people’s successes make you lose heart but rather let them become a springboard for you to rise up and stay in line with your pursuit of success. Remember if you cannot stay focused long enough to achieve your desired goal you will become a drop out. So stay focused.
Diligence
Proverbs 12:24
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
To be diligent is to do things with care and effort, using top skills and not carelessly. One wise person said ‘My life principle is to do my work the best way possible and the right people will notice my performance.’ In offices and businesses today there are performance indicators attached to every job. That is, your result is weighed against the set, desired outcome. Diligence is not a gift; it is a character you develop. So settle down and start doing things with care and effort instead of rushing through them.
How much effort and care are you putting into your life goals? How much of your day does it take? Remember what you look at longest becomes strongest in your heart. Practice brings improvement and improvement brings satisfactory progress. Success is otherwise defined as satisfactory progress. If you are not satisfied with your progress you may need to put in more care and effort.
Persistence
Luke 9:61
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
To be persistent is to continue in a specific line of thought or direction despite opposition. Friend, the road to the success is uphill therefore you have to overcome a lot of resistance. Beware that not everyone will be excited about your dreams not because they hate you but because it’s your dream and not theirs. As a matter of fact God does not need their approval for your dream to be fulfilled but God needs your persistence for you to birth success.
I want you to know that every setback is a setup for a comeback. Quitters never win and winners never quit. I encourage you to stick with your God given dream and never relent. If you stick with it long enough you will succeed and the people that laughed at you at first will return to rejoice with you.
