Steps to a life of Excellence – 4

The fourth step to living a life of excellence is separation from the world and separation unto God.

Romans 12:2 – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

To be separated from the world means to change your thinking pattern. Before anyone can be worldly, he or she must have a worldly mindset. I always tell people that if you don’t change your mind or thinking pattern you cannot change your life because the mind is the control centre of all human action. Even the Bible records in Philemon 1:14 that without our mind nothing can be done. This implies that your participation is vital for you to separate yourself from wrong thinking so as to live an excellent life that is destined for you in Christ.

As it is said, “garbage in, garbage out”. If you feed your mind with the wrong information on how hard and impossible your dreams are then you have set yourself up for total failure because where the mind goes there the body will follow. Friend, there is no great mountain anywhere; every man’s ignorance is his great mountain. There is no special problem there is only special ignorance.

I want you to become selective about the kind of information you let into your mind because the Bible says you should take heed how you hear because as faith comes by hearing so do fear and doubt also come by hearing. Everything you believe and act upon today you heard somewhere from someone. So take an inventory of who you are in Christ and fix your mind on that. Let your nature and status in Christ become your new mindset and throw away all negative and ungodly thoughts and wrong images of yourself.
