Steps into walking in the power of Jesus Christ

1John 1:1-3 –That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life– the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us– that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.(NKJV).

Revelation 3:20Behold , I stand at the door, and knock : if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Friend, We have relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit reveals the Father to us on a daily basis to strengthen our relationship with Him. Every Christian agrees that we should have relationship with God and that is good. But most Christians miss it when it comes to motive and basis of the relationship. I call such Christians professional Christians. It’s all about what is in it for them and not who they are meeting and relating with. The reason for any relationship would determine the depth and strength of the relationship in the days ahead. The majority are seeking and developing relationship with God because of His power, ability to change things for them, make their life better or so that he would not judge them. These are good reasons but the reason why God wants us to build relationship with Him and obey Him is because we love Him and not because we scared of Him or afraid of what the devil can do to us.

So the first step to walking in the power in the name of Jesus is to build a relationship with Him on basis of loving Him and not on basis of the blessing you desire from Him. This type of relationship leads to intimacy with God.

When we get the relationship right, then Jesus Christ will begin to reveal Himself to you and you will comprehend what He is revealing to you. You move from having the knowledge of the historic Christ to having knowledge of the revealed Christ. Intimacy leads to depth and then you will attain to heights. From the scripture in 1John above, you will see that John the apostle advanced from theoretical knowledge of the person and power of Jesus Christ to the experiential and practical knowledge of Jesus Christ. Intimacy precedes revelation. And when the truth is revealed to you then keys are placed in your hands for triumph. Remember, it was the revelation that led Peter to getting the keys of the kingdom of heaven in Matthew 16. Keys in the bible conotes authority and access.

The key to operate in the power of Jesus Christ is handed to us through revelation and revelation comes after intimacy is developed. It takes time to develop any good relationship. We develop relationship with Jesus Christ through the time of fellowship in the word and prayers. Studying with the intention to know Him and praying that He reveals Himself to us so that we may become more intimate with Him is crucial. The primary purpose of our relationship with God should be for intimacy.

When revelation comes and you start applying the keys, your life starts to get revolutionised. Then your profiting begins to appear to all. Revelation knowledge in itself cannot save you, it what you do with it that revolutionises your life. You need to begin to use the name of Jesus with confidence and faith. You need to know the power the name carries and use the power. As you begin to live a revolutionised life, you become God’s mouth piece and power arm on earth. You begin to manifest the power of Christ on a daily basis. Your name will become synonymous with the power of Jesus Christ.
