Purity is freedom from contamination. To be pure means to be free from anything that taints or impairs.

The psalmist said ‘in sin did my mother conceived me’ (Psalm 51:5) but Hallelujah! Those who have given their lives to Christ have been washed by the blood of the lamb and have gained freedom from sin and death; Righteousness, Holiness and Purity have been imputed unto them. The only reason we as children of God can boldly say we have been made pure is because we gave up sin and exchanged it with Jesus’ righteousness at new birth. There was an exchange in the Spirit; He gave us His purity and we gave up sin; Praise God! We are clean.

Now that our purity in Christ has been established, we need to understand that purity grants us access to God (The Power of God).

Matthew 5:8 – Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Psalm 24:3-4 – Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place?  He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.

Purity closes the door of death and opens the door to see God; seeing God means experiencing the power of God. When Moses asked to see God in Exodus 33, God manifested His power and ways to Moses. The bible described in Exodus 33:11 that God spoke to Moses face to face as a man speakest with His friend. What this means is that Moses experienced the awesome power of God and enjoyed supernatural revelation as a friend of God.

We need to understand that just as there will be tribulations in the world, there will also be things that will try to contaminate us, but Praise God; He has overcome on our behalf. The bible declares that the body of sin has been put away (Romans 6:6). The Word also declares that we have been crucified with Christ in Galatians 2:20, so the struggle to remain pure is gone. We simply need to allow the Word of God continually cleanse us. Some Christians believe we can only be pure when we finally leave this earth but we actually sustain our purity by allowing God live vicariously through us. This means the life we live is by faith through Jesus because ‘Purity is not what we do but it is who we are’.

The Lord wants to prove His power in our lives as children of God. He is saying you do not need to fight the battles of life on your own nor do you need to struggle to achieve. He says He will manifest His power in and through you. There is no need to be harassed by the enemy anymore because you now have gained access to God’s power that makes you more than a conqueror in all these things.

Brethren, there is only one way to go, remain who you are in Christ and His power will be continually revealed in you.

Questions for you to reflect on
Do you know you have been made clean?
Do you know it not how pure you feel that counts, it is much you believe in who made you clean that counts?
