How to Develop Effective Vision

Proverbs 29:18Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law.

For a vision to be effective it has to have certain components. The components include: clarity, brevity, challenge, future orientation, stability and desirability or inspiration when effectively communicated.

So what is our vision? What mandate has God given us? Why do we exist? What purpose are we to serve and what needs are we created to meet? The vision that God gave us, as a ministry, was to reveal Jesus Christ (the anointed one and as the burden remover and the yoke destroyer). The accomplishment of this will culminate in a life of total prosperity. Our Scriptural emphasis is Matthew 16:16-18 “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father, which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” After we have this revelation and engage with it in our lives, we become revealers of Christ to our community and our world. In any community we are located, be it business, home, school or sports we have been sent as ambassadors and carriers of the burden removing and yoke destroying power of God to change our world.

The future of the ministry is one that has every member and individual possessing a divine insight and belief that he or she is the very arm of God to this generation, to rid it of every yoke and burden of the wicked one. We are a community of people with a mission to set the pace by first becoming champions and then making others champions in their various fields through the revelation of Christ in and through us as His ambassadors.

How do we embark on this?

We need to develop values, cultural and belief systems that feed into the vision and empower it to be embraced by people around us. We need to develop an internal culture of loyalty to the God given vision as a personal responsibility and an external loyalty to our community. To intentionally meet their needs in sacrificial ways by reaching out to them with the gospel using available tools in strategic ways.

A strong belief that everyone has potential for greatness in them and enabling them to reach their potential by creating a conducive atmosphere for their development in supporting our God given vision in multiple ways.

Establish a value of financial integrity and unquestionable character in our dealings towards man and God. Treating people in a Christ-like manner beginning with family, ministry and life in general and leaving people with the testimony that we are indeed ambassadors for Christ, the anointed one.

Friend, vision is very beneficial because the accomplishment of the vision brings happiness and rewards to the visionary Christian who casts and follows the vision through. It brings hope and meaning to the life of the people that the vision impacts on. Having and living the vision is a win, win situation for all involved.

This is the picture that I see; I see a people carrying the very life of Christ in them and living it out in their various fields of endeavour, removing burden and destroying yokes through the consistent character of Christ in words and deeds. I see them bringing conviction to their community, more by character and display of the fruits of Christ, than by mere words; becoming champions and creating other champions. Friend, actions speaks louder than words. It is Christ in action in us that will bring this ministry quickly to the place of the revival that is coming in our direction.
