How to develop Christ in You
November 11
Ephesians 4:11-15
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ”
No one is self-made; we are all products of influence. If you don’t have point of references you cannot become a point of reference. I owe my spiritual maturity to men and women God has put over me and I was and am still submissive to them. Please note no matter how many great men and women are around you if you don’t submit to them and their leadership you will not profit from the wealth of their illumination.
A wise man said, if God has put someone over you, you should submit to and feed on all the revelation God has given them. You will begin to receive insights too as time goes by; but by all means learn what your master knows first. A teachable spirit is a very important factor in the process of growing Christ in you and in any other area of life.
From the above scriptures God clearly states His pattern of developing us into maturity in the things of Christ. That is, through His anointed ministers that He has specifically sent to us. But if we despise them we would only have ourselves to blame. Simply put, for you to develop Christ in you, you need to follow and learn from someone who has developed Christ in him or herself.
There are certain levels of opposition that you cannot handle without proper spiritual leadership and covering. As a pastor I lead mainly through teaching, preaching, instruction and my personal lifestyle. You in turn develop Christ in you by feeding on these messages and insights.
