How to Convert the Blessing into a Physical Reality
Deuteronomy 8:18 –And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. (New King James Version)
Deuteronomy 8:18 – But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ABILITY to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.
(New International Version)
Deuteronomy 8:18 – Well, think again. Remember that God, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth so as to confirm the covenant that he promised to your ancestors – as it is today.
(Message Translation)
‘Ability’ is defined as competence, talent or power. From the above scripture we can see that God has deposited within us all abilities, talents and strength to create wealth. Please note that this scripture does not only refer to the Israelites alone, but also to all the covenant children of Abraham through Jesus Christ which includes us.
We all have abilities within us to create, get and make wealth so don’t pass the buck. Stop looking for another person to create something for you to enjoy. You are a creator so get busy creating something good. You are created in the image and likeness of God so tap into what you have and begin to rise up to the occasion.
Another thing that is noted in the above scripture is that you are to remember that God is the source of your ability, talent, skills etc. because any river that forgets its source will soon dry up. So it is imperative that you earnestly remember that it is not by your power or might it is by the Holy Spirit within you that you will create wealth.
I observed from the Bible that people easily forget God in good times and so let their commitment slip. One of the possible drawbacks of success is complacency. The onus is on all of us never to forget our source and keep that at the centre of all that we do.
Finally you must know that wealth creation in God’s Kingdom is by covenant. The covenant is between you and God. There is a God part to it and a man part to it. Every promise of God is conditional and none is automatic. So brace up and get in motion.
