God has placed value in every created being of His, believer or not. He expects us to share the same perspective on this issue. If He or she was valueless, I’m sure He wouldn’t have created him or her.
Even objects and other creatures He made are good to Him as proclaimed in Genesis 1:31
And God saw everything He had made, and, behold, it was very good…
Sometimes God chooses vessels through which He delivers His goods in a way that is out rightly different from the one we would have chosen if we were given the opportunity.
Dishonouring whosoever God chooses to bring your miracle through means you’re losing out on the miracle.
What makes a person dishonour another person? Simply put, it is pride: being too full of oneself. Sometimes it’s the trend and people follow it blindly.
Most of the time, people (especially those at the preferred positions) forget that whatever they amounted to was because of God. So they feel it’s their own power that got them there and they begin to see others (that seem lower) as worthless and not honourable.
Equally, those that seemingly assume the inferior position by circumstance feel that they are unfortunate to find themselves in such positions and as such, feel that they do not possess the materials that make for successful personalities. So, they feel and see their selves as worthless and not honourable.
Too many people judge themselves and others only by circumstances which is a wide misjudgment and hindrance to their advancement because it creates a “mentality disability”. If they can see the honour God has placed over them and others which brings out the best in them, it will ginger a right thinking and the right thinking will fuel their energy.
In the Syrian community, I assume that servants were honoured or probably it was a principle in Naaman’s family to give maids a platform of expression. 2Kings 5: 1-4
1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him Yahweh had given victory to Syria: he was also a mighty man of valor, [but he was] a leper.
2 The Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maiden; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.
3 She said to her mistress, Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! then would he recover him of his leprosy.
4 One went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maiden who is of the land of Israel.
Naaman’s miracle began just simply by his wife honouring her maid by listening to her, and amazingly it concluded just by him honouring his servants by listening to them.
10 Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.
11 But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and wave his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
12 Aren’t Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
13 His servants came near, and spoke to him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, Wash, and be clean?
14 Then went he down, and dipped [himself] seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh came again like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
If Naaman’s wife had treated her little maid as a trash that some others might have seen her to be, there- by dishonouring her by not listening to her, her husband could have probably remained a leper throughout his entire life.
Also, if Naaman had refused to be counseled by his servants, there-by showing honour to them, he could have equally lost out on his life-miracle. Although, disregarding the man of God was a totally wrong choice, doing the same to his servants would have cost him a whole lot because these helped him to eventually honour the man of God.
The law of giving and receiving also operates with honour. If you give honour to people, rest assured that you’ll get honour in the same measure in the same area or another which will help you into your miracle. But if you feel and display that some people do not deserve a degree of honour, then the same will be felt of you by some others, for what you sow is what you reap.
Honouring people is a part of the ingredients in achieving greatness, so if it’s your desire to come into greatness, then honour people.
