Life is full of daily necessities of decision making. From the minor ones of what to eat, what to wear, what to say, what to look at , what to buy, what to listen to, where to go, who to go with and so many others, to the major ones of choosing one’s way of life, profession, life partner, investment, self management and others.
Decisions are the wings on which one’s life’s flight is directed. In other words, decisions determine the direction and height that one will attain in life, even as God offered man the opportunity to choose, He also encouraged him to choose right.
Deuteronomy 30:19 ‘This day I call Heaven and Earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.’ Definitely, no one wants to die for poor decisions yet many constantly make these poor decisions.
GREAT CHOICES
Joseph decided (chose) that whatever he did, he was going to make sure God was not disregarded. Gen 39:9-10.
Daniel and his company decided they were not going to defile themselves with the king’s meat and also to refrain from bowing to any other God. Daniel 1:8, 3:16-18.
Joshua made a decree that as for him and his house, they would serve the Lord. Joshua 24: 15.
Apostle Paul offered his life to the service of God.
Our Lord Jesus decided that whatever the cost may be, He was going to die on the cross for humanity to partake of eternal life.
All of these great examples made good decisions and FOLLOWED THROUGH TO EACH ACHIEVEMENT!
So, two major questions should be, ‘How do I make quality decisions that will indeed direct my life in the way it should go according to the will of God?’ and ‘How do I follow through to the achievement of these?’
Making a decision is one thing, while following through is another variant aspect. Many make decisions just by decreeing but not knowing the instrument of the achievement. Decrees should be followed by their working steps.
THE 3 “FOLLOWING- THROUGH “ KEYS
BURNING DESIRE– A desire that will not push one to go all the way out for a project is not worth considering as significant. If anything great would come from a desire, then the desire must be burning in the heart of its carrier. This burning sensation is the driving force that leads to the achieving strategies. Your desire must become visible (action giving).
STRATEGIC WORKING KNOWLEDGE– The labour of a fool will only tend to futility since he doesn’t know the way to the city. It will be so foolish of a man to embark on a journey and not know the required information to getting there. Complying knowledge is the platform from which success will proceed.
CONSISTENT PERSISTENCE– Readiness to bear rigor or pain in consistently persistent manner is the weapon that will eventually kill all the opposing forces that are bent on thwarting one’s effort in the pathway to achievement. Enduring the cross was Jesus’ sacrifice for achieving His purpose. Hebrews 5:8
Although He was a Son, He learnt obedience from what He suffered and once made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. Remember, NO PAIN, NO GAIN!
With these in place, then you can take charge.
