Jeremiah 20:7-9

O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.

8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.

9 Then I said, I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name. But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

Principal to winning in the conflicts of life as a Christian is knowing how to deploy the tremendous power at our disposal all of which is wrapped up in the wonderful Name of Jesus.

The above scripture is a reflection of the inner dialogue of a lot of believers who are engrossed with the frustrations of not reaping the harvest that comes from using the Name of Jesus.

Such individuals are all too often swept off their feet by the enormity of the challenges raging in their earthly experience. They feel a sense of abandonment, regret and futile faith in the Name since they cannot point to anything tangible that is directly the result of applying the Name of Christ to their situation.

Consider prophet Jeremiah, he was called by God so the fact that he was called did not insulate him from the pressures of human existence. His frustration drew from the fact that the Name of the Lord, instead of producing desired results in his life, was producing shame, mockery, reproach and derision. In order words, he felt like the name was not working. How many times have you felt that way? That the Name is not working? He said, “… every one mocketh me…” It is not always fun when we get the wrong feedback on account of our faith in God.

Then everything turned around because the word of the Lord began to stir the spirit of the man of God. It is important for you to know that Faith in the Name of Christ is the result of the words of Christ. If you are running short in the words of Christ, it should be no wonder when you begin to observe that your confidence in the name begins to decline.

The more you imbibe His words in your heart, the more your faith in Him begins to find expression. The prophet said, “Though I was on the verge of giving up on the name of the Lord, His word would not let me be! Ah! It was like fire shut up in my bones!” This is what happens when you are rich in the words of Christ.. In the first place, faith comes by the word so when there is deficiency in the word base, then life has the tendency to become a maze.

It does not matter how many times you shout the Name, if you are wordless, the Name becomes lame and worthless in your mouth. Remember the seven sons of sceva? They did not have the words of Christ so the Name could not produce for them.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;

When you are rich in the words of Christ, results and testimonies will never elude you.

Blessed is he that cometh in the Name of the Lord!
