Divine Favour

Psalm 5:12 – For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Some of the definitions of favour include, approval, a kindly or helpful act beyond what is due, to endorse. To have preference above others.

To have divine favour means to have God’s approval and endorsement, to have help from God beyond what is due.

You know when a celebrity endorses a product; it drives up the sale of the product. The product becomes preferred above the rest. So also when God endorses you, you enjoy divine preference.

The above scripture makes it clear who God will bless with favour, the righteous. Who is the righteous? 2Corinthians 5:17 & 21 declares that anyone that has accepted the finished works of Christ has been made righteous through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus. So every child of God has being made righteous in Christ.

The above scripture states that God will bless you, the righteous. To bless means to empower to prosper. So it means God will empower you to prosper. It went to say that in addition to being empowered to prosper, God will compass you with favour. As with a shield. A shield is a defensive weapon used for protection. God will empower you with his blessing and he will protect you with his favour. The blessing of God empowers you, the favour of God create the opportunity for the empowerment to work. The favour of God will help you to be at the right place at the right time. God has given you special abilities and he provides opportunities for you through his favour to make the blessing work and become a reality.

So be aware that you have the blessing of God and the favour of God. It is through this awareness that you birth expectation for divine manifestation.

Years ago, I was told it is not possible for us to build a church in our town that would attract the local people because we are not from the town, the people will not connect with us and couple with fact that our background is different our outlook will not relevant. I was told that about how many people have tried and failed. But I refused to accept the bad report and I tapped into God’s favour. I continually declared that I have favour with the people. Today our church membership is over eighty people of the local people and more are still coming. Declaring favour is not a formula, it is a lifestyle.

Begin to see yourself blessed and favoured by God.
