Daniel 1:8, 19-20

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine, which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”

“Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they served before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.”

I have come to discover and understand that victory and excellence in life does not answer to laws and principles in the absence of singleness of heart and genuine purpose. I have seen many apply the principles of prosperity, favour, health, success etc. but their lives are running in an entirely opposite direction and there is no evidence of the essence of what they profess to know. Majority of the time it is because their hearts are wrong.

I have seen people in different settings ranging from church to business manipulating each other. Manipulation never ends well and never earns anyone lasting excellence.

It is clear from the above scriptures that what goes on in our heart is loud and clear to God. I have leant to relate with God and man with singleness of heart because my I know that if my heart was not right towards my fellow man and God I will only be delaying my own progress. God wants us to excel like Daniel and make the world a better place not a callous place. He wants us to reproduce ourselves in people as we allow Him to reproduce Himself in us.

Please don’t allow substandard thoughts to generate a substandard life for you. You are destined to be great therefore don’t entertain smallness. Enough of mediocrity and settling for low places, God has lifted you and set you upon the high places of the earth.

What you have to do is to purpose in your heart not to defile yourself with anything that will run against God’s agenda for you. You may have to change your circle of friends and business associates and the places you go. You may need to change your approach and outlook to life and things because no change is change until you have changed.

I prophesy a new and clean heart in you in Jesus mighty name! No more mediocrity in any area of your life from now onwards in Jesus mighty name!
